Not legal or immigration advice. Our immigration articles describe published USCIS and Home Office policy. Immigration outcomes turn on facts specific to each case, and the consequences of a wrong filing can include bars on re-entry. Use a licensed attorney or, in the UK, a regulated adviser.
Not financial advice. Our mortgage articles describe published programme rules. They are not a recommendation to borrow, and not a comparison of lenders.

Figures go out of date
Tax thresholds, loan limits, visa fees and salary requirements change — several of them annually, some mid-year.
Every article states the date its facts were checked. Treat any figure as a snapshot of that date. Where an article covers something that moves quickly, it carries a note at the top.
Where we could not verify something
We work from official sources. Where a primary source was unavailable, unreadable or contradicted by another, we say so in the article and leave the gap open rather than publishing a figure we cannot stand behind.
You will find several examples across this site: exam-style figures we declined to state, credit score thresholds we flagged as unverified, broker lists we would not publish. That is deliberate. A confident wrong number in this subject area costs somebody real money.
